Ultrasonography

Ultrasonography is an important non-invasive diagnostic procedure available to clients of the Kingston Road Animal Hospital. This tool allows our doctors to view real time diagnostic imaging of your pet’s organs, beyond what the eye can see on radiographs and what the hands can appreciate by touch.

Common procedures performed at Kingston Road Animal Hospital include ultrasonography of the heart and chest structures, abdominal organs, eyes, pregnancy checks, muscle tissue, throat structures, lymph nodes, and masses. Not only can internal structures and their textures be identified, blood flow characteristics can also be assessed. Furthermore, non-invasive guided biopsy or sampling of internal tissues anywhere in the body is facilitated with ultrasound.
